Mind

The mental and physical benefits of meditation have been overwhelmingly validated by science. While meditation can be a spiritual practice, it doesn’t have to be. You can think of it as a powerful mental health tool that allows you to change your brain. A lot of people have this idea that meditation means doing nothing mentally and emptying the mind of all thought. That’s not true. Meditation is not about suppressing thoughts. It’s about learning to observe what you do think and to direct your attention. It is your attention that sculpts your brain.  Meditation helps a person become aware of their mind (mindful awareness), learn to work with their thoughts, allow the frontal lobe to control and calm the brain, change the physical makeup of the brain (neuroplasticity), expand awareness, consciousness and so much more. Choose the style of meditation that best fits you.

 

My Quantum Fitness Toolbox explores the powerful connection between the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of our being by highlighting Chakra meditations and related energy, sensory and vibrational therapies. Chakras are junctions points between consciousness and physiology. These centers of energy govern the core physical and emotional functions of our being.

 

Spirit

Each person is a singular being with a unique spirituality that merits respect and awe. I understand spirituality in the broad sense, as being all the unique ways each of us connects and relates with our self, other beings, our physical environment, and however we might conceive of the supernatural world. Some form of spirituality can be integral to health & healing. Affirm and practice the spirituality that's meaningful to you.

 

My Quantum Fitness Toolbox highlights A Course in Miracles. The Course is best approached as a vehicle to explore one’s own unique, personal and direct relationship with Self & Source. The Course is about reconnecting your Self with your Spirit; letting your Spirit lead; letting your Spirit shine. While ACIM uses Christian terms and language, the Course challenges traditional Christian and non-Christian beliefs alike. Hence, the Course is non-denominational and I continue to coach and facilitate the Course from a non-denominational perspective.

During our 12 weeks together, we'll review the entire 669-page Text. Exploring the full Text is a great way to gain a deeper understanding of the teachings. As a student/teacher of ACIM for 30 years, I always look forward to hearing your own observations and stories. I'll share mine and some personal incites designed to further your understanding as you apply the Course and experience Miracles in your own life. This review is also a wonderful precursor for students new to the Course who go on to self-study the 365 daily lessons included in the Workbook for Students. Finally, I'll share recommendations on how students can structure their future ACIM studies and get the most out of the Course for many years to come.

What is A Course in Miracles?

In My Own Words

This is a Course about love & light. This is a course about healing. This is a course for change. This is a course in miracles. For over three decades I've practiced the Course serving as my compass and roadmap to life, my internal world, my external world, the Universe and eternity.

 

The Course is best approached as a vehicle to explore one’s own unique, personal and direct relationship with Self and Source. While ACIM uses Christian terms and language, the Course challenges traditional Christian and non-Christian beliefs alike. Hence, it's non-denominational and I continue to coach and facilitate the Course from a non-denominational perspective.

 

The Course Explains

The curriculum the Course proposes is carefully conceived and is explained, step by step, at both the theoretical and practical levels. It emphasizes application rather than theory, and experience rather than theology. It specifically states that "a universal theology is impossible, but a universal experience is not only possible but necessary". Although Christian in statement, the Course deals with universal spiritual themes. It emphasizes it is but one version of the universal curriculum. There are many others, this one differing from them only in form. They all lead to God in the end.

 

Some of the ideas the workbook presents you will find hard to believe, and others may seem to be quite startling. This does not matter. You are merely asked to apply the ideas as you are directed to do. You are not asked to judge them at all. You are asked only to use them. It is their use that will give them meaning to you, and will show you that they are true. Remember only this; you need not believe the ideas, you need not accept them, and you need not even welcome them. Some of them you may actively resist. None of this will matter, or decrease their efficacy.

 

As its title implies, the Course is arranged throughout as a teaching device. It consists of three books: a 669-page Text, a 488-page Workbook for Students, and a 92-page Manual for Teachers. The order in which students choose to use the books, and the ways in which they study them, depend on their particular needs and preferences.

 

The Course makes no claim to finality, nor are the workbook lessons intended to bring the student's learning to completion. At the end, the reader is left in the hands of his or her own Internal Teacher, Who will direct all subsequent learning as He sees fit. This Course is a beginning, not an end.
